Ithaka Greek Restaraunt - OPA!

Vanisle Tourism continues to bring you features that focus on Living Life to the Full in beautiful Victoria BC.  Last night we had the opportunity to explore Ithaka, Victoria's newest Greek Restaurant.
VGSN was generously hosted tonight by family-run Ithaka, Victoria's newest addition to the Greek restaurant scene. Rated #1 in Victoria by Trip Advisor, Demitri, Pat and John served up a feast of traditional Greek favorites prepared by Andreas and Mama Maria in the kitchen. Although Greek by name, Ithaka also serves steaks, ribs, pasta and other not-so-traditional menu items to delight every palate. We enjoyed the flaming Saganaki Opa! - cheese with an unpronounceable name doused with Metaxa brandy and set alight, and Greek Salad, along with Maria's House Salad - a variation on Greek salad with lettuce. Then we feasted family style on Greek Platters of moussaka, spanakopita, tender chicken and pork souvlaki, kalamari, sauteed prawns, lamb chops, and dolmades with tsatziki and rice. We rounded out the meal with Ekmek, an Athenian sweet served with Maria's coffee almond ice cream. The evening would not have been complete without a dance recital by Demitri and Andreas to Zorba The Greek! Located on the corner of Cook and Yates Streets, Ithaka is close to downtown with free off-street parking and a glassed-in patio that just begs for leisurely dining and sipping summer wine. Reservations are a good idea, this place was hopping on a Monday night! OPA!  For more pictures go to our Facebook page. Be sure to watch the Zorba the Greek dance on our facebook pageMap to Ithaka.
