When you live by the sea, you never know what you will see from day to day. The Golden Princess is now in the dry dock at Esquimalt Navel Base. It is pretty impressive to see such a large ship right out of the water. Apparently there was only about 1 foot clearance on either side of the ship as it entered dry dock. Check it out. It should be there for about a month getting refitted. If you are looking for other tours while in Victoria, Click Here. If you want detailed information visit our web site.

Victoria Has Cool Alleys
Downtown Victoria, especially in "Old Towne" and Chinatown, you will find some really small and interesting alleys. The picture shown here is Fan Tan Alley. It was featured in the movie "Bird on a Wire" with Goldie Hawn and Mel Gibson. They were chased down this alley on a motor cycle with a cop in hot pursuit. The chase lasted all of about 5 minutes on screen, so they must have done about 20 runs in the alley because it is not all that long. Many of the alleys have some interesting shops to browse through and there is a lot of history here. It is said that these alleys were escape routes from illegal gambling dens and opium emporiums. Come and check out our alleys you will be amazed. Waddington alley for example has one of Victoria's better restaurants in it, Il Terrazzo. To learn more about Chinatown, Click Here. Nice Buns
Well just when I though I had found the best bun ever, I found another one. This one was at Willie's Bakery on lower Johnson street in downtown Victoria. This is a great place for a bakery treat or even a good breakfast. Check out the size of the muffin. There are lots of good places to eat in Victoria. For Victoria information click here.

A Bun For All Seasons
Most of my adult life I have been in search of the world's best cinnamon bun. I have tried the "Tuck Shop" bun at the University of Alberta, the UBC cinnamon bun, Nan's near Crystal Springs, Pigeon Lake and many more. Most have disappeared but new ones keep taking up the slack. Today I tried the cinnamon bun at the Blue Fox restaurant on Fort Street in Victoria. It was a monster and contained apple and raisins. As you can see from the picture, it was a meal in itself. I actually could not finish eating it, even though I thought it was fantastic. This place has some of the most amazing breakfasts you will find anywhere. Their cinnamon bun is near the top of the list. Delicious. They make prety good cinnamon buns just up Fort Street at Sally Buns, check them out. For other good places to eat in Victoria, Click here. For detail holiday planning check here.
